'Indian Army treated us good': Minor sisters from PoK repatriated after inadvertently entering India
Two minor sisters from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK), who were detained after they inadvertently crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and entered the Indian territory, were repatriated on Monday. They were sent back from the Chakan Da Bagh crossing point near Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Laiba Zabair (17) and her younger sister Sana Zabair (13), residents of Kahuta Tehsil in PoK, were held yesterday after being spotted wandering inside the Indian territory.
Just before her repatriation, Laiba Zabair said, "We lost our way and entered Indian territory. We feared that Army personnel will beat us up but they treated us in a very good manner. We had thought that they would not allow us to go back but today we are being sent home. People are very good here."
After spending less than 24 hours in detention, the minor girls were sent back to their home. The handover of the sisters took place at the CDB point in the presence of civilian and military officials of Pakistan. They were given gifts and sweets by the Indian Army as a goodwill gesture.
While speaking to media, a defence spokesperson said, "Two girls of Abbasspur, Tehsil Forward Kahuta of PoK, who had inadvertently crossed into the Indian side in Poonch, have been repatriated from the Chakan Da Bagh (CDB) crossing point today."
