Historic Day: 4th of February will see contract signing ceremony for 83 Tejas Mk1A jets
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has sent a Press invite for the 4th of February where, Chairman and Managing Director of state-owned aviation major, R Madhavan will be holding a Media conference at the Arjan Hall in Air force station, Yelahanka, Bengaluru. Informed people close to idrw.org have confirmed that the final contract for the 73 Tejas Mk1A and 10 Tejas Mk1 Trainer aircraft will be concluded at the event with much fanfare in the presence of Indian Air Force (IAF) chief RKS Bhadauria and Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh.
Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh will be attending the inaugural ceremony of Aero India 2021 at Yelahanka, Bengaluru (Karnataka) on January 03, 2021. and will also open up a third production line of the Tejas Mk1A jets at the new facility that will manufacture 8 jets per year. The third production line will be used to manufacture initially 18 FOC Configuration Tejas Mk1 Trainer aircraft from 2021 onwards then later making the switch to Single seater Tejas Mk1A fighter jets from 2024 onwards.
