Top 5 Big updates !! 1) France offers Rafale F4 to India, 2) MOD clears purchase of Light tanks, Rus


While France is working with Germany and other partners to develop a sixth generation stealth fighter jet by 2035. France has also committed 2.3 billion dollars to develop the F4 version of the Rafale fighter jet, which is expected to enter production in 2022, and will feature new avionics, more powerful jammers, and Network centric combat capabilities. they will be equipped with, the next-generation meteor beyond visual range air to air missile system, a new 1,000 kilometers range hypersonic stealth cruise missile, developed under the project v-max, an upgraded scalp cruise system, and the next-generation version of the mica air-to-air system, which will have better performance against, stealth fighters. France has already indicated that Dassault aviation, can shift to the latest f4 standard, in the 114 MMRCA fighter jets tender of the indian air force. some of the f4 standard enhancements, will be available for testing by 2022, and they will be showcased to the test team of the indian air force, and India has the option, to use some of the f4 components, in its India specific Rafale standard, to avoid the rise in cost price in the MMRCA program.

The Ministry Of Defence has given, go ahead to the Army, to procure a light weight tank from abroad, under the emergency purchase category. There are several light tank systems in the international market currently, but seeing India’s long old tradition, of having Russian tanks in its arsenal, it is believed that the Russian Sprut-SD is the front runner in this segment. As there are reports that, when the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited Russia last month, for the participation in the victory day parade in Moscow, in the meeting with the Russian Defence Minister, the Russian side had offered the light tank to us, India then responded positively. And that’s why the DAC has cleared it now, in New Delhi, to procure that tank, as early as possible, to counter Chinese Type-15 light tank in the Himalayan terrain.

The DRDO has started, work on the astra mark ii, which will have a new conventional dual pulse motor, with thrust vectoring control, and a longer range than the 160 kilometers range, of the american AIM 120 D, and the 200 kilometers ranged Chinese pl-15, while the D R D O officials have been tight-lipped about its range, and media reports claim a range of 180 kilometers, the actual range of the astra mark ii will remain classified. while the development timeline has never been disclosed, it can be safely assumed, that the astra mark ii will be ready, before the solid fuel ducted ramjet propulsion system, which will be used on the 340 kilometers range astra mark iii, in the next decade.

India is inch closer, to procure 30 predator B drones from the US, for its three armed force services, after a meeting between the stakeholders, in the defense ministry have finally cleared, the decks for the purchase, that is estimated to cost over, three billion dollars, making them the first long endurance high-altitude combat drones, in the Indian arsenal. the drones have a range of 1,900 kilometers, and an endurance of 27 hours, and it can operate at an altitude of up to 50,000 feet, carrying four Hellfire systems, and two Paveway laser-guided system. the sale was approved by the US State Department, in June 2017 and in new head, placed a deal on hold, due to budgetary reasons. but now the deal is all set to be signed, due to the current security situation at the borders of LAC and LOC.

The Indo-Israeli joint venture, of Israel weapon industries (IWI) and the indian firm PLR systems, which currently manufactures the Tavor 7.62 by 51 millimeters rifles in India, will start the and manufacturing, of the newly developed ARAD and CARMEL rifles of Israel, for infantry soldiers and indian special forces, and they will also be exported, to foreign countries. the ARAD can be changed easily, to use two different calibres, namely 5.56 millimeters and 7.62 by 35 millimeters, and is designed to address the needs of special forces. while the CARMEL is a, 5.56 by 45 millimeters caliber rifle, for extended combat duration.
