India @ 71 !! Where we stand today at the global arena, as a nation and how much we have to go more

India @ 71 !!

India, the largest democracy and the 7th largest country (in terms of area) in the world is celebrating its 71st Independence day this 15th August, 2018. It has gone through several ups and downs in these 71 long years after having a rule of the British for 200 long years before 1947 and also another hundreds of years of Mughal rule before that. At the time of independence, challenges before its leaders were very much worrying, hard to restrain and tougher to overcome through. But the leaders of newly independent India, were confident enough that they could turn their country’s fate and direction if they could work hard. And finally our forefathers hard works, their dreams and consistent efforts to uplift the country from economic and social respect, have paid off.

Although it was not a easy journey till today, but collective efforts of our leaders and people of the country have finally worked for us. We are the 6th largest economy in the world now.!!! Almost equalling our colonial Master Britain in economy in other aspects !!! This is a proud moment for every Indians in the country and throughout the world !!! We have the Fastest growing major economy in the world. Our economy is growing at a rapid pace of 7.5% per annum, at a time when global economy faces slowdown here and there. Thanks to the dozens of social welfare and other economic policies by current NDA Govt led by dynamic Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

In every sector today, our country has either achieved self-reliance or at the verge of getting that in a few years more to come. Be it Information Technology industry, Steel production, mining sector, banking sector, automobile industry or large scale and small scale other manufacturing industries, we are becoming a global giant day by day. Recently our country has become the 2nd largest steel producer and 2nd largest mobile phones manufacturer in the world and in both respect only after China, with whom we have a direct competition at the world stage. In Milk production, we are the largest producer in the world, in Automobile industry, we have the 4th largest automobile market and 5th largest automobile manufacturing in the world !!. In small car manufacturing, we are 2nd largest and fast approaching towards 1st place.

In Space technology and Science too, we are becoming a giant day by day. Our Space agency ISRO has been creating milestones every year. When we launched Mars Mission in 2013, very few countries have expectation of success of that mission. But the hard works of our scientists have brought us the fame that even NASA the No.1 space agency in the world of United States couldn’t get in their Mars mission because we became the first country in the world to reach Mars in its first attempt !!! Amazing naaaahhh !!?? Such is the stature of our ISRO !!! By launching 104 satellites in one carrier and successfully placing them in different orbits throughout the earth’s orbit, was the most successful space mission ISRO had ever carried and whole world was surprised that day and there was only praise for ISRO and India all over the world then. That’s why ISRO has already become the 4th most powerful and capable space agency after NASA, Chinese National Space Agency and European Space agency !!!

These are some of huge achievements in terms of infrastructure, industry and manufacturing. These sectors needs good connectivity throughout the country to be a successful one. And we have the 2nd largest road network and 3rd largest rail network in the world and we are fast approaching towards top position in both connectivity sector.

We have the 2nd largest standing Army in terms of manpower, 4th largest Air Force and 4th Largest Navy in the world, but still we do not attack, invade or capture any of our neighbour country’s land. We are the largest contributor to United Nations Peacekeeping missions !!! We have the 5th highest Defence Budget in the world pegged at 57 billion US $. We have a growing military and we are modernising that consistently. We fought 5 major wars and 2 small skirmishes with Pakistan and China, of them we have won 6 and lost only 1 to China. Our Armed Forces personnel have been praised everywhere around the globe for their pure professionalism and dedication towards their country’s pride and respect. They can do anything to safeguard their motherland. That’s what we are proud of our soldiers, it is only for them, that we are living peacefully in our homes. Their valour, courage and supreme sacrifices have always attracted foreign militaries interests to study our soldiers and the reason of their high morale.

In these 71 years, we have progressed really well !! From being a poor 3rd world country to the fastest growing major economy and probably the future 3rd largest economy in the world, it was great journey of sacrifices, ups and downs and many other controversies around our country. But among all of that, we have progressed slowly but healthily !!! Under the leadership of current Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India has emerged as the strongest pillar of world economy. International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank, and also other International economic agencies have praised the policies of Modi Govt in curbing corruption, poverty and policy paralysis. This Govt under PM Modi, have done extremely well in terms of getting Foreign Direct Investment. As it has successfully garnered more than 130 billion US $ in these 4 years of its term till today. When previous UPA Govt left the power in 2014, our Foreign exchange reserves was at 296 billion US $, and now it is more than 426 billion US $, this is very huge, world has never seen such a huge surge in Foreign exchange reserves of a country. UPA Govt under the leadership of Former Prime Minister Shri Manmohan Singh had garnered 190 billion US $ foreign reserves in its 10 years rule from 2004-2014.

PM Modi, visited many major economies several times in his 4 years tenure so far, and met several top Business tycoons there and invited them to invest in India, and it is the result of his hard works, that Samsung has opened world’s largest manufacturing unit of electronic goods in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. !! Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has opened its facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. But later last year, it has decided to open two more manufacturing facilities in India and those two new facilities have been under construction in Uttar Pradesh (Noida). Foxconn, the Taiwanese mobile manufacturing company which manufactures Apple iPhone under license, has also opened its facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Apple also has plan to set up a China like Apple store in Bengaluru. Other mobile companies like Huwaei, ZTE Corporation, Gionee and Indian companies like Micromax, Intex, Karbonn and many other small mobile companies have also started their manufacturing in India. Before 2014, these Indian companies, forget Chinese companies, itself were manufacturing their mobiles in China !! Now, they all have shifted their manufacturing units from China to their own land India. This is a huge achievement by the current Govt Of India.

These are just the beginnings, we have to go a long way to be the true Super power of the world, what we once were thousands years ago !!! Our forefathers have dreamt of an India, which will rule the world like before, we must unite our powers to make their dream become true, and we can do it together…
