Indian Army says it will cross LoC again if required to teach Pak a lesson

In a big blow for Pakistan, Indian Army on Thursday afternoon warned the neighbouring country of more surgical strikes if it doesn’t end it terror harbouring activities on the border. The warning came from the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Northern Command, Lt Gen D Ambu. While speaking to media in Udhampur, Lt Ambu said that LoC is not a line that cannot be breached and India won’t shy away from conducting another surgical strike if required. “Surgical strike was a point we wanted to drive home across that LoC is not a line that cannot be breached,” he was quoted saying by ANI. Ambu added that the Indian Army can conduct a surgical strike anytime it wants to. “When we want to we will be able to breach it (LoC), go across & strike when we need. Subtle message we wanted to convey,” he added. Talking about the infiltration attempts made recently, he said that even though they have increased, none of these attempts were actually successful. “While lot of attempts are made(to infiltrate), but most are not successful, there has been a sharp decline,” Ambu added. He said that launch pads and terrorist camps have increased since last year. “Large number of terrorist camps and launch pads exist across south & north of Pir Panjal, they have not decreased,” he said while adding, “Launch pads and terrorist camps have increased since last year.” He added, “Terrorists continue to try to infiltrate, we have been foiling their attempts to infiltrate into Kashmir valley/Jammu region.” Yesterday, the Indian Army chief General Biwin Rawat had said that India should be ready for a two-front war, insisting China has started “flexing its muscles”, while there seems to be no scope for reconciliation with Pakistan whose military and polity saw an adversary in India. “We have to be prepared. In our context, therefore, warfare lies within the realm of reality,” he said, adding the Army’s supremacy among the three services must be maintained to successfully combat external security threats, according to a report by PTI.
